Quality Control Manager

Responsibilities:
 
  • Manage all quality matters on a New York City Transit project.
  • Act in all quality matters including monthly update reporting to NYCT & Sr. Management.
  • Oversee, train and mentor new Quality Control Team members.
  • Ability to multi task with design, construction, procurement and project team members.
  • Participate in Company & NYCT value engineering design & construction review processes.
  • Draft, construct and gain NYCT approval of a Quality Control Plan (QCP).
  • Formulate internal corporate quality procedures.
  • Implement corrective action plans (CAP).
  • Maintain construction document control.
  • Perform external and internal auditing.
  • Inspect and test installed equipment at multiple subway locations.
  • Administrate and distribute monthly progress photos to NYCT.
  • Assure compliance of Inspection & Test Plans by Consultants, Contractors, Suppliers and Independent Testing Laboratories.
  • Police contractors to assure compliance with the Quality Control Program (QCP).
  • Draft, construct and gain NYCT approval of project specific Quality Work Plans (QWP).
  • Train field construction workforce in accordance with Quality Work Plans (QWP).
  • Maintain contractor testing equipment inspection/calibration records.
  • Update and maintain the 6 week look-ahead schedule every 2 weeks.

Assist in the management and submission of:

  • Shop drawings/catalog cuts/coordination-arrangement
    drawings.
  • As-Built drawings-both daily updates and final submission.
  • O&M manuals for complete systems.
  • Formal training syllabuses for complete systems.
  • Commission test procedures & documentation

Skills

  • Excellent organizational & communications skills.
  • Ability to travel when required.
  • Versatility to work night shifts or weekends when required.
  • Proficient in Word and Excel.
  • Working knowledge of Constructware (a plus).
  • Auto-Cad 2007 (a plus).
  • Experience/Certifications.
  • Minimum 5 years related NYCT experience (preferably in RF & Fiber installations).
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CEQ) as recognized by American Society for Quality (ASQ).
  • Certified ISO-9000 Lead Auditor as recognized by Registrar Accreditation Board (RAB).
  • Maintain active membership in ASQ or other recognized national quality focused organizations.
  • NYCT Track Training required.
  • OSHA 10 training required.
  • NYCT Ladder/Baker scaffolding training.

Education

  • BS in Management or Engineering or equivalent field
    experience.
