Field Engineer/Drafting
Responsibilities:
- Survey of the NYC subway platforms mezzanines and public passageways design verification, including notes, photographs, field measurements, etc.
- Maintain project survey records
- Prepare drawings from preliminary concepts, sketches to final construction
drawings of inside plant and well as outside plant, including:- Plans, elevations and sections
- Details drawings
- Schedules
- Wiring Diagrams
- Review of all As-Builts, inside plant and outside plant
- Preparation of Submittals to NYCT for approval
- Prepare estimated quantities for bid
- Project cost controls
- Project schedule
- Inspection of field work to ensure adherence to specifications
- Assist in preparation of final bid documents including contract specifications, drawing, and schedule of quantities
- Assist in bid analysis and comparison
- Preparation and administration of construction documents
- Attend site visits, meetings & produce reports as required
Skills
- Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to work well independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Strong computer skills including proficiency in AutoCad and MSOffice
- Ability to multi-task
- Strong conceptual as well as technical abilities
- Highly motivated and organized
- Knowledge of ArcGis software is a plus
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Highly reliable and trustworthy
Experience
- 2 to 3 years of engineering/drafting experience
- Experience with NYCT projects is a plus.
- Have knowledge of general engineering design and construction.
Education
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering/Architecture or equivalent experience
