Assistant Project Manager
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Project Manager (PM) in superintending a New York City Transit project.
- Participate in monthly job progress meeting updates to Sr. Management & NYCT.
- Engage NYCT project management team daily on field coordination and office administration.
- Schedule NYCT services (flagging, access/protection and general order piggyback requests).
- Provide weekly scheduling updates to the NYCT 6 week look-ahead schedules.
- Update project schedule monthly to (PM) and project Scheduler.
- Mentor/train new hire project management team members.
- Ability to multi task with design, construction, procurement and accounting team members.
- Actively participate in (PM's) weekly filed coordination meetings to problem solve.
- Participate in value engineering design and construction review/approval processes.
- Engage contractor's work force/management to establish good working relationships.
- Monitor labor productivity reports daily and update monthly or as required.
- Assist (PM) with tracking NYCT EFA and TA Labor force accounts, quarterly.
- Work closely with approved Quality Manager and Safety Engineer on all project matters.
- Supervise field installation and provided direction when necessary.
- Monitor contractor compliance of the Quality Control Plan (QCP) & Quality Work Plans (QWP).
- Assure compliance with field and supplier Corrective Action Plans (CAP) as directed.
- Police contractors to assure compliance with the approved Accident Prevention Plan (APP).
- Actively participate in safety "Tool Box" meetings with the contractors and Safety Engineer.
- Assist in the management and submission of:
- Shop drawings/catalog cuts/construction drawings.
- As-Built drawings-both daily updates and final submission.
- Commissioning test procedures and documentation.
Skills
- Excellent organizational & communications skills.
- Ability to travel when required (tri-state area).
- Versatility to work night shifts or weekends when required.
- Proficient in Word and Excel.
- Working knowledge of Constructware (a plus).
- Working knowledge of Primavera Scheduling P3 (a plus).
Experience/Certifications
- Minimum 5-7 years NYCT experience (preferably in RF & Fiber installations) required.
- OSHA 10 certification required.
- NYCT Track Training required.
- NYCT Ladder/Baker scaffold training.
Education
- BS in Management or Engineering or equivalent field experience.
